The students of Tampere University of Applied Sciences' international Media & Arts line have
combined their skills producing a series of music performances that will be published online.
This innovative project was born from a simple yet bold idea: to blend music, art, and digital
media into a captivating YouTube concert series.
In the pre production stage, the production team started to form. Three talented bands were
chosen to perform from the music production study line, each one bringing their own unique
sound and vibe to the different episodes. Behind the scenes, almost 30 students worked
together to make the vision a reality. All the students aimed at crafting a one-of-a-kind
experience that would embody the essence of media and arts. We needed to create an
immersive atmosphere where acoustic performances and captivating visuals would take
centre stage.
From audio engineers and visual designers to multicam operators, marketers, and project
managers, every individual plays a crucial role in bringing our vision to life. Designers
created the visual style for the event and crafted eye-catching illustrations to promote the
event. Marketing team spread the word and started creating the content for the website and
social media. Motion graphics for the event were designed. Set designers transformed the
venue, while lighting and audio experts set the mood. Challenges were embraced, from
making the event area and video walls work in innovative ways. Plan for the camera setup
and recording had to take all these different parts into account.
Together a sense of excitement and the right kind of atmosphere started to form. Overall,
almost 30 students from different backgrounds came together, united by their passion for
music and art.
We all are excited as our final aim is coming closer. We are producing three captivating
concerts, each lasting 15 to 20 minutes, with multicam production, over three consecutive
event days. Following the concerts, the content will be shared via our YouTube channel
throughout May.
The spirit of this project of the Music Cafe Mepochino has been that it is more than just a
concert record; it is a celebration of collaboration and creativity. Students from different
classes came together, each individual tasked with bringing their expertise to the table. This
has been a great chance to develop further and gain useful experience. Conceived as a
platform to showcase the skills of media and arts students, this project truly represents the
future talents of content creation.
